Adrian's 3rd Birthday!!!

Wow! Time does fly. I have a three year old already, and he really enjoys life. As do I. He loves to dance and entertain other people. He loves to play ninjas and hiding games. He loves to play outside and go for walks. He knows all his ABC's and 123's by sight, colors and shapes. He loves to cut with scissors (supervised mind you) glue, paint, and draw. He's leaning how to play games on the computer. My little three year old. It struck me yesterday just how profound it truly is. I realized that now that Adrian is three, I will never have that two year old boy he used to be. That two year is gone forever, and will never return, dead, in a way. Did I enjoy that two year old enough? Did I play with him, and enjoy each and every experience we had together? Probably not enough. All I can do is enjoy the three year old I have now, and hope I take the time to spend the time with him that I should. To teach him and help him grow, help him to have a love, value, and respect for the people and life around him. My little three year old boy.

How Was Your Thanksiving?

I know it may seem much to late to even post these, but, how was your Thanksgiving? I realize we haven't much to complain about, however, we have never had a Thanksgiving where things went as terribly wrong as they did this year. So here are some pics. Enjoy!

First off, my parents bought a new turkey roaster for this year, they were so excited to be able to use the oven for all the other food, without the turkey taking up all that time to cook. So they put the turkey in overnight, accidentally on a HIGH setting! Our bird was very well done.It may difficult to see the white stuff on the ham, but it is whipped cream from the strawberry pretzel salad (which did not set up right) that my mom dropped the ham in. Yum.


These rolls are cooked - yup - cooked. I did this one. I was making Rhodes rolls using the quick set method in which you warm up the oven, then place the dough in it with a pot of water and the head and moisture help the rolls rise faster. Well, I forgot to turn tho oven off after I heated it up.
This may seem an odd picture, I know, but , well we have a flat top electric stove and the butter got placed on a not so cool burner. Below is a pic of the butter that dripped on the floor. Yum. This pie looks delicous! And it was, but not without it's mishaps. Kylie, my sis made it, and called my mom asking if she had put in a tablespoon of spice instead of a teaspoon, would it make a big difference. So Kylie remade the icecream pumpkin pie. She brought it over, and we forgot to put it in the freezer, so it melted. Yikes what a crazy Thanksgiving!
But it wasn't all bad, even though my little guy got to spend this Thanksgiving with his dad instead of me, so I missed him terribly, we had lots of family and friends over, and we did have lots of good food still turn out. We also played Rock Band together - I love it!

I had a blast last night!!!!!! My sibs and I stayed up for the midnight showing of Twilight, not only that, but we also got to attend the pre-show party!!! Here are some pics.

The theme for the ParTy was "Prom Night" so we all got dressed up, and just like the real Prom. dad had to take pictures before we left. From left to right Shaua (Kylie's Friend), Kira (Von's girlfriend), Von, Elise, Me, and Kylie!This was the BeaUtiFul centerpeice on the buffet table. I mean really, this would be cute for a fall decoration in my future house!

And, of course, there was food (WE are humans after all) this was the fabulous chocolate fountain, and there was all sorts of YuMmy food to fit the Twilight theme - mushroom ravioli (what Bella eats on her first "date" with Edward), Billy Blacks famous meatballs, Rosalie's yummy fruit, etc.

Edward & Bella anyone? These guys are professional actors hired to play the parts. Edwards HOT, but I felt like a giant standing next to him, living in a family with really tall people tends to make you forget everyone else is shorter than us!!!It's Bella, Rosalie, and Alice!!!!And Edward and Bella!!!

This was one of the Halloween shows at Lagoon - I fell in love with Frankenstein - he did a fab job!

WOW has this year flown by or what? Here are some cute Halloween photos from various events we went to. Adrian was with his dad Halloween night. I finally found out he was a pirate. I went to the Harry Potter house in South Ogden - amazing!!!! It's free and all outside. You enter through platform 9 3/4 and are greeted with floating candles, talking portraits, qudditch try-outs, the Monster Book of Monsters, wand lessons from Olivander, hat sorting by McGonagal, Bogarts in drawers, and Professor Lockhart handing out photos of himself, Professor Dumbledore, Buckbeak, pumpkin juice, candy wands and candy golden snitches, Luna Lovegood, Lucious Malfoy, Bealrix LaStrange, death eaters, demontors, fortune telling by Professor Traylaney, Mrs Weasley, Hagrid, moaning Myrtle (in her toilet mind you), Mad eye moody, the car in the whomping willow, a dragon, the Mouradors Map, and even the Dursley's to top it all off. (Sorry for the mis-spellings, I listen to the books more than I read them, & don't feel like looking it all up). Anyway it is just fantastic! It was our second year in attendance, and has become our new tradition.

My sisters and I will be attending the Twilight Prom Night opening night, we are all pumped, and even dressing up as the characters (something I've never done when seeing a moive but hey, there's a first time for everything right?) I bought the soundtrack, and I have decided I do like it. Can't wait - just a couple more weeks!

Halloween

Halloween is just around the corner! I can't wait! It is my favorite holiday. I just had the last week off from work, and I got to go to the Haunted Train in Heber Valley with my two cousins and their cute little boys! (I don't know how they handle three boys each - my one is crazy enough and he keeps me on my toes!) Mostly, Adrian and I just hung out, but we also went to Punkinaize. A fun little corn maze in West Haven. And we happened to arrive at the same time as my best friend, her hubby and their three kids! We couldn't have planned it better! There were giant slides (big enough three adults could slide down side by side) and a huge pool filled with corn. Adrian's fav was the corn pit (did I mention it had candy in it). Unfortunately I forgot my camera. I know, I know the cardinal sin of motherhood! I did get a few pics with my phone though, but the quality isn't the greatest. Hopefully I can post em later.

So long to summer!!!

I have to concede it. Summer's gone and fall has arrived. Not really that bad, however, summer just melted away like a popsicle in 100 dgree plus weather. I always love how beautiful Utah is in the autumn. The orange and red leaves colour the mountain sides and rainbow the foilage. Football games are in full play. Pumpkin and gourd sales are harvesting in every grocery store and local produce stand. The air smells crisp and fresh, and carries with it a slight chill. Promises of apple cider and pumpkin pastries whisper throught the air. YUM. I cannot even express how I look forward to having my own house to decorate, my own house to grow a garden that needs harvesting, Adrian having his own room and his very own space, my own house to invite company over, my own house to make into my own home. I hope and pray every day that that day and time is on the horizon and will soon be a reality. Maybe next year. . . . .












My mom was outside washing her van, and of course, Adrian wanted to help, so of course, I wanted to take pics. He had some much fun, that a few days later, he decided to have hi own car wash.

I know! I know! It's September and I'm already posting Pumpkin pics. My mom bought these cute new plastic pieces that are meant to be stuck in a pumpkin, and Adrian was so excited when he saw them, that I took him over to Cochran's Produce to pick out his first Pumpkin of the season. He was so excited! We even had to buckle the pumpkin up in the seat next to him for the one minute drive home! Then of course he had to put all the pieces on the pumpkin whether they went together or not. It's supposed to be four different faces - a bear, a cat, a dog and a pig. But as you can see - he loves it as is!

Apparently one blog a month is good enough for me! But we've had a lot going on! I'll try to make it a good one. We're just enjoying the fading days of summer and while fall is my favorite time of year, I think I can safely say I'm still not ready for the weather to change just yet, I haven't recovered from last winter!

Adrian is growing so fast everyday! I can't even explain the pride and joy welling up inside as I watch him grow! I am fascinated at how smart he is! He knows his colors, alphabet, I don't even know how high he can count, and he knows how to count to ten in Spanish. He even knows most of his numbers and letters by sight. He even knows his shapes. I was driving, and he's always been an observant boy, pointing out the color of the traffic lights and such - "Mom, green go! Red Stop!" one day he said "Stop sign - Red" and I asked "Do you know what shape it is." "Octagon!" he shouted gleefully. I mean really - I was amazed! He's two and a half. I contribute it all to the Preschool Prep series. A series of DVD's designed to teach children these things - absolutely fabulous!










We went to Lagoon last weekend for our second time this year. (Haven't exactly taken full advantage of our season passes - but now they are officially paid for) Adrian was much more adventurous this time! But as always - his two favorite attractions were the fountain and driving the "By myself!"













We were standing in line at the "Lady Bug Drop" But he would not stand still - across the path was miniature golf - he was exstatic! So we paid the fee and got him his club and ball. He had a blast! He thought it was the best thing ever! I was afraid he woulnd not last, but he putted through all 18 holes! I think his favorite part was getting the ball out of the hole, so when we came to the 18th hole, and it didn't give the ball back, I had a pretty upset little boy! He tried crawling in the booth to get it back! He's pretty determined!

My senior year in high school, we did the play "Peter Pan" and this bit was in it. I absolutely loved it and must say, that as I've revisited it as a mother, I've found it much more engaging and true to childhood. I just wanted to share it with all of you!

Swimming, Sand, and Fireworks

I know! It's been brought to my attention that it's been a while, but in my defense, I've been working two jobs, and haven't had time or material in which to update with. My second job is a lot of fun, I work as a stylist at Trade Secret. I am finally using the cosmetology license I earned two years ago!!!! Adrian and I are enjoying the summer together, we rented some wave runners with a couple of friends, seen about four firework shows already, and spent quite a few days at the new city splash pad.
I was privileged enough to spend my 4th of July at the Stadium of Fire with Glen Beck hosting, several Olympic Summer game athletes and Service Men and Women and their families, The Blue Man Group and Miley Cyrus performing. Plus the most amazing and colorful firework show I have EVER seen (this coming from a girl who spent a spring semester working in Walt Disney World). I am truly enjoying this heat as a much needed reprieve from the past winter!
I am still in the middle of my divorce, but things are moving along (all-be-it at a snails pace) I hope it will be final early 2009.
I got to participate in a 5k. My first ever. I walked it, since I decided to participate the day before, I decided randomly running a 5k with no prior training to be a bad idea. I discovered that I loved it! It was a blast, and I plan on participating next year (running???? - hopefully).
Can I just say - I love being a mom! Or more I just adore my sweet boy, he cracks me up! I look forward to the day when I will be able to bring more children into my life. :)
I have recently started attending a healthy cooking class. I absolutely love it, and plan on sharing some good recipes soon. It's really easy to do, and supper yummy to eat!
I must say, I have recently purchased a Nintendo Wii, and I am amazed at all the fun stuff there is to do! Not only that, but I also have the Wii Fit. It really exercises the entire body! You all need to try it!
